Chendu Airport etc.

We seem to spend a lot of time flying and eating on this trip! But as Amelia noted, we are always hungry when we sit down to eat, so it works.

We saw sleep boxes in the Chendu airports and had to take a peek. It includes a TV/computer and wifi! At baggage claim, Lian was thrilled that Greg let her ride on top of the luggage cart since other families were doing it. There are two groups traveling so when we meet up at the airport it is a crowd. We have about 25-30 people in the "green" group. The girls have enjoyed playing with the other kids and we have enjoyed time with the parents.

Our guides have been great. Linn is our national guide and stays with the group for the whole tour. At each airport, we are met by a new local guide. They usually pick English names to use at work. In Beijing we met Amber, in Xian it was Susan. In Chendu our local guide is Bobby. On Friday we will leave the group and go off to Lian's province. We will have our own local guide when we land in Jiangxi province.

When we arrived in Chendu we had the best meal so far at a restaurant they call "Grandma's Kitchen!" The quality of the food was not surprising since we are in Szechuan province - known for its food and for pandas! We will visit the panda preserve on Thursday morning.
