Food in Nanchang and JiAn
This post is for Mimi. I tried to send it earlier but it did not go through. Noodles Nanchang - for breakfast! (and lunch and dinner if you eat at the hotel buffet!) We spent a week in Nanchang when we adopted Lian and enjoyed the spicy noodles - Nanchange style, until we could not eat it any more. We promised our travel buddies we would enjoy some Noodles Nanchang and take a picture for them. The other picture here is steamed eggs. Lian loved steamed eggs when we adopted her. She ate them every morning at the hotel buffet along with rice congee. This trip, Lian was not interested in the congee, but her reaction to the steamed eggs here - "I do not like them, I LOVE them!" These eggs came from the hens at the Elderly home we visited in JiAn. The director gave Lian a bag of eggs to take to the restaurant for them to cook for lunch. Whenever we commented on the vegetables in the garden there, the director would go an grab more items for lunch. They were so happy to share their fresh food with us. As in many places in China, the restaurants have private rooms on the second floor. These are generally square rooms with a large round table and a huge lazy susan in the middle. In JiAn, I think we had about 10-12 people around the table. The food just keeps coming until you cannot eat any more. It was fun and delicious.
